About

Adoption

Adopting from Dallas DogRRR means you are extending your family not only with your new family member, but you are also gaining a family that will stand and support you with all the questions or concerns you may have.  Dallas DogRRR is a family organization. We all work as a team to make the adoption process as simple as we can.  When you save a life by adopting your pet from Dallas DogRRR, you save a second life by opening space in a foster home for another rescued dog in need and create space in a shelter kennel for a life that would have otherwise been on the line.

WE ARE SO GRATEFUL TO OUR ADOPTERS & LOOK FORWARD TO ADDING YOU TO OUR FAMILY!

Welcome to DALLAS DOGRRR NATION!

Steps to Adoption

STEP 1. ADOPTION APPLICATION

Complete the adoption application. An adoption specialist will review your application and contact you within 2-3 business days.

STEP 2. INTERVIEW, HOME CHECK, & REFERENCE CHECK

One of the adoption specialists will reach out to discuss adoption, the pet you are interested in, and work to find the best match for you.  They will also be checking your references and requesting an in-home or virtual home check.

 STEP 3. MEET & GREET

First, you and your family will meet your potential new family member. Then we conduct a meet & greet with the current dogs in your home. Since every dog is different, we may require multiple meet and greets for some pups,

STEP 4. ADOPTION

This is the best part... CONGRATULATIONS! You have just adopted a new family member.  Dallas DogRRR offers multiple resources. Our post-adoption support is available to help you transition your new family member including an adopter support group, and resources for medical, and training.

DENIALS*

We appreciate and work very closely with our potential adopters. Unfortunately, there are times we have to deny applications due to not meeting the requirements. We do our best to let you know if we’ve had to deny an application. If you do not hear from us within 5-7 days of applying, please email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org about your application.

MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS

When a dog receives multiple applications, we do our best to match with the best application for the dog. We know this is difficult for the applicants not selected, especially after meeting a hopeful new potential family member. Please know it is not a reflection on the applying family, and there is a pup out there for you. Once approved, we try our best to help find your forever family member.
